Bereavement Ministry
The Bereavement Ministry is organized to provide one-on-one Christian care to people in and around our congregation grieving the death of a loved one. We seek to provide compassion, empathy, and comfort as a person navigates the grieving process.
Life Preparation Ministry
We certainly recognize that at some point in life, we will transition. The Life Preparation Ministry aim to help people talk about what each family needs to know in preparing for their transition. The Ministry helps to guide those providing future end-of-life care, including options for palliative care and ensures that no family encounters a financial burden with the transition of love ones.
Christian Education Ministry
Christian Education Ministry involves the administration and coordination of programs or strategies to facilitate the spiritual growth or discipleship of believers into Christ-likeness.
Culinary & Hospitality Ministry
The goal is to make Mt. Zoar a welcoming, safe environment for all people, making them feel at home with us and assisting them with any needs they might have. Serving on this team provides believers of Christ an opportunity and outlet to extend this love of Christ.
Good News Crew Ministry
We win when men and women are multiplying the Gospel by making disciples of all nations with their lives. We are a faith family full of world-impacting disciples who really believe that as a church we can shake the nations for His glory! The four primary facets of disciple-making are: Share the Word. Show the Word. Teach the Word. Serve the World.
Health Education Ministry
We are to be stewards of our bodies and so a church can train people to treat their bodies (“a temple of the Holy Spirit”) in ways that glorify Him. (1 Cor. 6:19-20). We were made by God with a body, mind, soul, spirit. The greatest command is to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength” (Mk. 12:30). And so, a church can minister to the whole person, integrating physical, spiritual, emotional, mental, and social health and wellness. Provide fitness training, nutrition classes, first aid during services,, providing information & resources about health care, serving as a liaison or advocate.
Intercessory Prayer Ministry
Prayer is the most potent force known to humanity. Because we have been made partakers in Jesus’ victory over sin and death (1 John 4:4), we have the authority as sons and daughters of God to pray for others, pushing back the darkness of sin and oppression. In prayer, we have a weapon that has divine power to destroy strongholds” (2 Corinthians 10:4). Pray for the things on God’s heart—for those who have no faith; for those who have fallen away from Jesus; for renewal and unity in all the Christian churches; for respect for all life; for all the lost, abandoned, or forgotten children of the world; for those under the power of addictions or bound by depression, anxiety, or bitterness; and for prisoners and service men and women. And, of course, pray for your own intentions and those of your loved ones.
Liturgical Dance Ministry
Liturgical Dance Ministry is dedicated to worshiping the Lord through the art of dance. We seek to glorify God in all aspects of our lives and praise dancing is another way in which we desire to please God. Psalms 150:4 Praise Him with the timbral and dance. Praise Mime Ministry is a powerful, demonstrative facet of the Worship Ministry whose purpose is to minister healing and deliverance to people’s hearts through creative expressions of dramatized pantomime.
Men’s Ministry
The purpose is to develop a men’s ministry by establishing a committed community of men so that they will replicate that community, just as the disciples created ‘ecclesias’ . . . small gatherings of Jesus followers who became the church, these men will replicate their community with other men.
Missionary/Outreach Ministry
The mission of the Missionary Ministry is to continuously seek to save sinful souls by spreading the Gospel message of salvation through faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to strengthen families by praying for them and with them, and supporting the weak and downtrodden. We do this by feeding the hungry and, providing school supplies for needy children at a local elementary school and shelter, distributing tracts, and visiting the people who are sick, shut-in.
Multimedia Ministry
The mission of the Audio/Visual ministry is to serve as an integral part of worship by providing quality live streaming and visual effects while uplifting the name of God. Our goal is to ensure that the sound and visual effects are clear so that the congregation can focus on praising God without unnecessary distractions. Through the use of live streaming, it is a great way of spreading the Gospel to those who may not have the opportunity to attend church due to illness, job requirements or other family obligations.
Music Ministry
Chronicles 25:1–6 tells us David selected three men; Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun to organize and lead the music in public services. In that same passage, we are told that these men had between them twenty-four sons, who they then led in the ministry of music. Each of them had specific responsibilities in both instrumentation and voice, and they led an army of musicians. Music played or sung by an anointed, spirit-filled Christian can create an atmosphere for God to manifest Himself to people, meeting needs, breaking yokes, setting captives free, etc. Music also sets the atmosphere so that we can hear what God is saying to us.
New Member’s Ministry
The New Members Ministry fosters the mission of New Mt. Zoar Baptist Church in helping new members to feel welcome in their new church family and to become actively involved in the life of the church. Our goal is to assist new members in their spiritual growth and development, as they assume the responsibilities of actively serving the Lord. We prepare new members through an orientation program that presents the history, mission, vision, organization structure, ministries, programs, and activities of New Mt. Zoar Baptist Church.

Plans and organizes the Pastor’s Anniversary celebrations. The pastor’s aide ministry is responsible for showing emotional support and appreciation to the pastor on behalf of the other congregants.
Prison Ministry
Our mission statement is transforming and unchaining the lives of the incarcerated by inviting them into the love, light, and salvation of Jesus Christ.. 2 Corinthians 3:17 says, “Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
Relationship Ministry (Marriage, Divorced, Singles)
The purpose of the Relationship Ministry is to provide individuals with the necessary tools needed to build and maintain healthy relationships using Godly principles based on the Word of God. We all are in relationships with God, family, friends, parishioner, etc., and we must be able to learn the art of relating to one another in a God filled way.
Y.E.S. Ministry
Y.E.S. (Young, Empowered, Servants) Youth Ministry – Our mission is to lead and equip our youth through the teaching of God’s Word, praise, and worship. Our vision is to lay the foundation that will empower and develop our youth to be all that God has uniquely called them to be, as disciples of Christ. (Proverbs 22:6) I recommend adding another bullet under the Youth Ministry for Youth Church, and add the following: The goal of Youth Church is to provide our youth with a dynamic, Christ-centered worship experience in a safe, relatable environment, thereby, allowing our youth to experience God for themselves. (Luke 18:16)
Wellness Ministry
The ministry delivers both Communion and community to those who are confined to their homes. The homebound need to have fellowship brought to them. They miss their friends and the fellowship of other church members. By receiving Communion and fellowship from the Wellness Ministry who visit their homes, the homebound church members develop new friendships and meaningful connections.

The Mission of the Young Adult Ministry shall be to unify the young adults of New Mt. Zoar Baptist Church through the study of God’s word and fellowship and use that bond to provide Christian service to Logos members and the community at large. Office of the Diaconate
The Deacons Ministry assists the Pastor in proclaiming the gospel; providing care for the pastor, church members, and the community; building and maintaining church fellowship; and providing Christian leadership to help the church attain its spiritual mission.
Usher’s Ministry
An usher is a spiritual ambassador for the local church – God’s ordained and organized body of believers. The usher serves as a “first representative” of Jesus Christ for a worship service. From the tabernacle in the Old Testament to the temple and synagogue in the New Testament, God’s presence and the teaching of His word is of supreme importance.
